BNH 102 ( PTSD )

Once known as “shell shock” a vague condition affecting war veterans, PTSD is now recognized as an anxiety disorder brought on by a traumatic event. According to U.S National Center for PTSD, 8 out of every 100 people will have PTSD at some point in their lives.

Various forms of psychotherapy, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) are used to treat PTSD. Also, a wide of variety of psychiatric drug classes are used to tread PTSD. Only the SSRIs have been extensively studied in large clinical trials, and two have been approved by the regulatory authorities (U.S., EU) for the treatment of PTSD.

SSRIs have been shown several limitations in clinical studies. There is no alternative in the market: new therapeutic options are needed to offer viable alternatives to the SSRIs.
